Wake up with the shrilling sound of the alarm as today was the first day of the week so it was sure that day is going to be a little hectic.
Donned in coverall and the safety gear went to the office. Outside mercury was rising up to 44 deg plus with the scorching sun. Here heat is entirely different from what one experience in India. There is very less humidity and the climate is almost dry. It is told that Sahara desert having the highest temperature on this planet earth during summer. Life at Sahara desert is very tough with harsh climate and barren soil.
Had to take few snaps of our base so hooked to the safety harness and went up to the 23 metres using man basket of a crane. View was completely white due to sharp sun rays but managed to take few aerial pictures.
When I was hanging on the man basket of the crane I was remembering travelling from Hassi Mesaoud to Hassi Remel by company’s chartered flight and you can’t believe that the view was very pathetic at some places and eye pleasing at some place.
Its parched, forbidding landscape took shape thousands of years, but even today, the Sahara is constantly changing. It is a matter of study that how the local caravaneers survive this harsh dry climate?
Even though living in this desert I thanks to the God that we got all the amenities to survive and lead a better life till whatever time we are here.
